Overview

Microlise offers the integration of Copilot Live driver satellite navigation to the portfolio of solutions. The solution uses the in-vehicle rugged mobile data terminal (MDT) or a lower cost personal digital assistant (PDA)-style terminal and integrates seamlessly with the proof of delivery, proof of collection or mobile workforce task management application. The next delivery or job address is automatically seeded to the navigation system from the delivery manifest, thus eliminating the need for the driver to key in any address or zip code.

Copilot Live can be automtically configured for each vehicle during log-on to avoid unsuitable road networks based on parameters such as the vehicle height, width, length, load and axle weight restrictions. Unlike other navigation products this ensures it is truly suited for delivery and heavy goods vehicle applications

For driver safety the system can be configured to change into a "safe" mode above a given low vehicle threshold speed. In this mode the detailed navigation map is replaced by a static display showing only the next major deviation

It is particularly suited to ad hoc delivery & collection, installation, service, repair or multi-drop environments, such as courier services for home delivery, where clients have found significant operational value by providing the driver with real time navigational guidance.

The solution is only a fraction of the cost of providing a separate stand alone navigational system.

Additional Microlise product modules

The following additional and related modules are available for integration with this solution to enhance functionality and deliver extended business benefits :

  • Microlise SofTrac
         Vehicle tracking using an in-cab Mobile Data Terminal or PDA type of handheld unit. Requires either inbuilt, Bluetooth or serial GPS receiver and cradle. GPS tracking of the vehicle without the need for a Microlise Tracking Unit but with more limited functionality. Ideal for contract and spot hire fleet.
